How to identify an ergonomic baby carrier?

Many baby carriers that we find on the internet and in stores, say they are ergonomic, but often they are not. Be careful with that! An ergonomic baby carrier stimulates healthy development by ensuring the correct distribution of the baby's weight, between the shoulders, hips and back. When the baby is sitting in the baby carrier, the baby must be vertical, the bottom is lower than the knees, in the "M" position, the hips more open and the spine is rounded, in the "C" position.

For a baby carrier to be truly ergonomic, it must support the baby's spine in the correct way, that is, the body should not have most of the weight supported on the hip joints, as there is a risk of the baby having hip dysplasia. You can identify a non-ergonomic baby carrier when you see that the baby's legs are "hanging".

What type of baby carrier should you use?

We believe that the best way to carry a newborn baby is by using baby wraps, also known as sling carriers. When the baby is a little bit older (above 55 cm), a regular carrier should do the trick. We know that not everyone can get used to wraps at the beginning, so in these cases, make sure to buy ergonomic carriers that will grow with your baby.
